SUMMER SOLSTICE DINNER PARTY
This year I decided to host an intimate boho dinner party celebrating the Summer Solstice, it was so much fun I may have to make it a yearly tradition! The Summer Solstice, also known as midsummer, is the longest day of the year. In many cultures, it has been marked by festivals and rituals. Instead of the things that may traditionally be seen done during the summer solstice, we celebrated by gathering as a group of friends who encourage, support, and lift each other up.
To help style the dinner I reached out to my friend Jennifer from Simple Means Events. She did an amazing job executing exactly what I had in mind! I sent her two inspo photos that I had found of floor seated dinner parties and a color pallet and this is what she created! I was beyond impressed with everything from the table settings, candles, pillows, vintage goblets, and gorgeous handmade name tags to her professionalism. If you are in AZ and looking for an event planner for your party, wedding or what have you she is the best around!
Modern March did a beautiful job with the custom calligraphy for the name tags. How beautiful is that detail? To go along with the Summer Solstice theme and the pink and neutral color pallet Jennifer made these beautiful place settings out of dried foliage she found in AZ and feathers. I was SHOOK!
The floral center pieces were beautifully done by Flowers by Megan Rae! I am always blown away by all of her work!
For the dinner I served roasted chicken wraps, a citrus salad made from orange and red grapefruit topped with blackberries, and green summer salad topped with jicama, mandarin oranges, and candied almonds. I also had hummus and pita bread triangles for the girls to snack on while we sat and talked. The citrus salad added a beautiful pop of color to the table and I now will always be using fruit to decorate all my future parties!
For desert we had Chunk Cookies, a local cookie delivery company. They are HUGE and come boxed still WARM and GOOEY.
Wood-n-crate brought the stars down to earth and strung lights low to create this beautiful effect! They are an outstanding company that provides not only lighting installations but hand crafted wooden pieces to rent!
I also wanted to give a shoutout to all my friends who came! Love you all <3
